I meant to tell you, too, that I just wrote an article for the NY Middle School Association Journal about the DLN and would be glad to send you a copy if you want to know more about what we're doing...
Hi Jim, our Digital Learning Network (or DLN) is an extension of our PLN or Professional Learning Network. It's a group of us, at the least the local ones of us, that interact through several different digital apps, including twitter, diigo or delicious, facebook, wikis and blogs for the purpose of impacting staff development, teaching, and student achievement. Most of us are either in local school administration or staff development and while we utilize these digital tools to keep us connected and share resources, we also meet face to face about once a month. Our next meeting just happens to coincide with the Buffalo Tweetup, and I would like to extend our meeting into the Tweetup meeting and meet some of the rest of the Buffalo Twitterati!
I'm going to do my best to be there. FYI - Lot's of talk at UB in the past month or so on how we should be using social media. I think people are starting to "get it"!
