Buffalo Tweetup

The Social Media Revolution in Buffalo, NY!

So when we founded the Buffalo Tweet-up group I don't think we would have initially anticipated this kind of quick growth. Recently, we have been picked up by the (Learning)Tech Writer at teh buffalo news @BuffaloScribe on Twitter. There seems to have been a lot of buzz around the twitter world as main stream media and lots of friend are joining. Twitter is becoming more and more popular and it's time we met some of the new Buffalo Tweet-up Group Members.

So lets make a date and time for the next tweet-up! Christmas is coming and everyone will be busy but lets make a date and time for some more face-to-face geekery. We even have some interests from some of our Canadian friends to meet up as well. How does the Third Friday in November sound? Brennans seemed like a pretty good place last time as we had ample room.

Just a thought, please throw in your two cents and I will talk with Jim about setting up a final locale descision. We want to see new faces this time. Don't be afraid we don't bite. You might actually have fun and learn something at the same time.

Friday November 21 sounds good to me. It would be great if we could get a good count of how many people to expect. We were luck to be able to get a table at Brennans without reservations last time, and still there was at least one person there who couldn't find us.

Can we do this in the city? A central city location like Pearl Street Grill second floor, Cole's on Elmwood oe Morrissey's would be a shorter drive for everyone.

Is there a hockey game at the HSBC Arena on the 21st? If not, Morrissey's should have plenty of room. We had a tweetup at Pearl Street once--I like the place, but it's awfully noisy. Ditto for Cole's unless we can get an accurate enough count to reserve a room. Morrissey's might be the best place for a crowd that might be large or small.

I agree Jim, Pearl street is noisy and it's impossible to park. Hopefully we'll be able to get a fairly accurate head count.

PS..I'll keep tweeting the event.

I'm a perpetual maybe, at the mercy of @AmandaPunaro and @AriellaPunaro. Haven't been to Pearl Street in forever, though, so that would be cool.

Ditto on the maybe. Friday's are about 50/50 for me, but I'll try to make it.

Something relatively accessible via public transport (for those of us sans-cars) would be helpful (and make me more liable to say yes :P)

Morrissey's is about a block from the HSBC Arena. That's the last Metro stop, isn't it?

is the event finalised? I still am not sure if i can make it though, but if the info gets up, I'll tell others about it.

The Sabres are playing Philly Friday night--Morrissey's will be packed. What's the crowd like at Gabriel's Gate on a Friday night?

I don't really know the down-town area. So I can't be much of a helper.
